Our Mission Statement
"Henley College Coventry believes in the power of education and training to make a difference to people’s lives, to give them the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full potential. To achieve this we put the ’student first’ in everything we do."
Celebrating Diversity
At Henley College we take equal opportunities very seriously and one of our six key values is celebrating the diversity of our students. The following are just some examples of actions we’ve taken over the last year to ensure that every single one of our students is welcomed and supported while they’re with us:
- We’ve produced a comprehensive action plan to ensure that all our activities and premises comply with disability and equality legislation.
- We’ve invested in new technology for our student surveys so that we can get a clearer idea of what students from different backgrounds and cultures think about our services.
- We’ve set up and expanded courses and programmes that promote wider participation in education - from 14-16 year olds to adult returners.
- We’ve grown our provision for students with additional needs and given substantial training to our staff on how they can best help to meet those needs.
- We’ve increased the number of our staff drawn from ethnic minorities.
- We’ve made sure that our marketing images reflect the community and the diversity of our students.
- We are aiming for all pages on the college website to meet the highest accessibility standards complying, where possible, with all priority 1, 2 and 3 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
